Ingredients for Dağ Kebabı (Turkish Mountain Kebab)
- 4 pieces bone-in lamb
- 2 tea glasses water (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp each)
- 10 pearl onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 2 red peppers
- 1 carrot
- 1 zucchini
- 10 green beans
- 5 small fresh potatoes
- 1 dessert spoon salt (about 2 tsp)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
How to Make Dağ Kebabı (Turkish Mountain Kebab)
Wash 4 pieces of bone-in lamb and place them in a large pot. Add 2 tea glasses of water and bring to a boil, then cook over low heat until the liquid is absorbed. Add 10 peeled pearl onions and 2 finely chopped garlic cloves. Pour in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and sauté for a few minutes. Julienne 1 yellow bell pepper and 2 red peppers and add them to the pot with the meat. Stir a few times. Add 1 julienned carrot, 1 julienned zucchini, and 10 green beans. Peel 5 small fresh potatoes and add them on top. Stir once, then add just enough water to barely cover, sprinkle with 1 dessert spoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and cook over low heat.
