Ingredients for Coconut Cookies

  • 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1.5 tea glasses (about 150 ml / 2/3 cup) powdered sugar
  • 2 tea glasses (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) shredded coconut
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Flour, as needed

How to Make Coconut Cookies

In a bowl, combine 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil, 3 tablespoons yogurt, 1.5 tea glasses powdered sugar, 1 tea glass shredded coconut, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and enough flour to bring together, then knead into a dough. Take pieces of dough about the size of a tangerine, roll them into balls, coat in shredded coconut, and arrange on a parchment-lined baking tray. Place the remaining half of the dough on a work surface and roll out thickly with a rolling pin. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter, coat in shredded coconut, and arrange on the tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) until the tops are golden brown.

Pro Tip

If you feel the coconut is not enough, feel free to add as much as you like.

About This Recipe

Coconut (Cocos nucifera), a member of the Arecaceae family known as palm trees, is an indispensable fruit of tropical climates. This tree, which generally grows in temperate climates, is carefully cultivated in many parts of the world due to the highly beneficial nature of its fruit. Coconut is consumed virtually everywhere on the globe, and nearly every part of it — from its fiber to its milk — finds a use.

Coconut is one of the most essential fruits in the cosmetics world. We frequently encounter it in shampoos, conditioners, soaps, skin creams, and makeup products. When you apply a mask made from coconut milk to your skin, it can brighten your skin tone by one shade. It also contributes to making your skin look radiant and feel soft. You can even use coconut, which helps slow aging, on your hair — it gives your hair a silky, soft texture.

Of course, beyond the cosmetics industry, coconut can be enjoyed in cakes, desserts, and many other foods. In fact, today we have another delicious example for you. Our previously shared Coconut Cake recipe was very well received. We thought, why not make the most of this wonderful fruit, and so we prepared these delightful Coconut Cookies just for you. Enjoy!
