Ingredients for Street-Style Sausages in Tomato Sauce

  • 4 long sausages
  • 1/2 tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste)
  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) water
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to Make Street-Style Sausages in Tomato Sauce

Sauté 1 tablespoon of flour in 1/2 tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp) of vegetable oil for a moment. Add 1 tablespoon of salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste) on top. Pour in 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) of water while mixing with a hand whisk. Add 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) of ketchup, 1 teaspoon of salt, and the sausages that have been washed and sliced down the middle. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat; once the sausages are cooked through, remove from the stove.

Cooking Tip

If your tomato sauce turns out too thick, you can add a little more water.
