Ingredients for Yufka Ponçik (Fried Yufka Doughnuts)
- 1 sheet yufka (thin Turkish phyllo-like dough)
- Powdered sugar
- Granulated sugar
How to Make Yufka Ponçik (Fried Yufka Doughnuts)
Tightly roll one whole sheet of yufka (thin Turkish phyllo-like dough) into a log shape. Cut into pieces about 4 fingers thick. Place the cut pieces into a bowl with a small amount of water and let them soak for 1–2 minutes. Fry in hot oil in a pan. While still warm, dust with powdered sugar and decorate with colored granulated sugar. (You can multiply the yufka and ingredients in the same way as needed.) Makes 5 pieces.
