Ingredients for White Sauce Chicken (Beyaz Soslu Tavuk)
- 4 large chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 10 pearl onions
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 water glasses (about 400 ml / 1½ cups + 2 tbsp) water
- 2 potatoes
- 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package heavy cream
How to Make White Sauce Chicken (Beyaz Soslu Tavuk)
We rinse and dry 4 large chicken thighs. In a pot, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, then sear the chicken thighs on both sides until golden brown. Remove the seared chicken from the pot and set aside. In the remaining oil in the pot, sauté 10 pearl onions, halved. Add 2 tablespoons of flour and continue to sauté. Pour in 2 water glasses (about 400 ml / 1½ cups + 2 tbsp) of water and stir. Place the chicken back in the pot. Add 2 medium potatoes, cut into cubes. Add 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and if needed, add more water until it just covers the chicken. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat. Shortly before the chicken is fully cooked, stir in 1 package of heavy cream. Enjoy your meal!
