Ingredients for Cacık (Yogurt-Cucumber Dip)

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 2 water glasses (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp each) yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Water, as needed
  • For topping:
  • Olive oil
  • Dried mint

How to Make Cacık (Yogurt-Cucumber Dip)

Into a large bowl, peel 2 cucumbers and dice them into small cubes. Add 2 water glasses of yogurt on top. (You can also use strained yogurt if you prefer.) Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of salt, then mix well. Gradually add water, adjusting the amount to reach your desired consistency for the cacık. Transfer the prepared cacık into serving bowls. Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with dried mint. Enjoy your meal!

We prepared this recipe plain. However, if you'd like a garlic version, you can crush 1 garlic clove and stir it in.

Cucumbers are made up of 95% water, yet they are also a great source of minerals and vitamins.
