Ingredients for Strawberry Jello Dessert (Çilekli Jöle)

  • 1 pack ready-made jello
  • 10 strawberries
  • 1 pack (200 g / 7 oz) heavy cream
  • 1/2 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) powdered sugar
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) white sugar pearls (cake decorating sugar)
  • Ready-made milk chocolate cream (store-bought)

How to Make Strawberry Jello Dessert (Çilekli Jöle)

Prepare 1 pack of ready-made jello according to the instructions on the package. Once the jello starts to thicken slightly, add 10 washed and halved strawberries into the jello and stir to combine.

In a bowl, whip 1 pack (200 g / 7 oz) of heavy cream together with 1/2 water glass of powdered sugar until fluffy. Into individual serving cups, spoon 2 tablespoons of jello. Add 3 tablespoons of whipped cream on top. Spoon another 2 tablespoons of jello over the cream. Decorate the edges with sliced strawberries, pipe ready-made milk chocolate cream in the center, and sprinkle white sugar pearls over the top. Place 1 whole strawberry in the center of each dessert for garnish. Refrigerate for 20 minutes before serving.

About This Recipe

Jello (gelatin) is derived by boiling the skin, bones, and connective tissue of animals such as cattle and fish. It is a food source particularly rich in the amino acids glycine and proline. These two amino acids are of great importance for skin health, hair health, and our body's immune system. Unfortunately, over the centuries, as people have come to consume little to none of the skin, bones, and connective tissue of animals, adequate levels of these amino acids are no longer easily obtained. This is precisely where jello desserts come to our rescue.

One-third of the jello powder sold in supermarkets and grocery stores is made up of the amino acid glycine. Glycine is an important compound that helps reduce inflammation and promotes rapid wound healing. On top of all that, when we consume sufficient amounts of glycine, our sleep quality improves as well.

We are glad that jello exists as one of our favorite light, fresh desserts :) Now it's time for our Strawberry Jello Dessert recipe, which we'll be enjoying for both its taste and its health benefits — and don't forget, our Biscuit Jello recipe is a perfect afternoon treat and is absolutely worth trying. Enjoy!
