- 250 g strawberries
- 500 ml (about 2 cups) milk
- 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) flour
- 50 g vegetable margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) granulated sugar
- 1 packet vanilla
- 1 packet whipped cream powder
- 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) cold milk
- 9 sheets puff pastry
- Powdered sugar for topping
How to Make Strawberry Mille-Feuille Dessert (Çilekli Milföy Tatlısı)
- In a saucepan, combine 500 ml of milk, 1 water glass of flour, and 50 g of vegetable margarine. In a separate bowl, beat 1 egg together with 1 water glass of sugar and add to the pan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the mixture thickens to a muhallebi (Turkish milk pudding) consistency. Once the mixture has cooled slightly, add 1 packet of vanilla and beat with a hand mixer. In a separate bowl, whip 1 packet of whipped cream powder with 1 water glass of cold milk, then fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture and beat everything together.
- Cut each puff pastry sheet in half. We use 9 sheets of puff pastry, giving us 18 pieces in total. Arrange all the pieces on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) until golden.
- Once the puff pastry pieces have cooled slightly, place 1 piece on a serving plate and spread some of the prepared pudding mixture over it. Arrange sliced strawberries on top. Place another puff pastry piece on top, spread more pudding mixture over it, and arrange another layer of sliced strawberries. Finally, close with a last piece of puff pastry. Press down gently with your hand, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
