  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable margarine
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) salt
  • Flour, as much as needed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 water glass lor cheese (Turkish curd cheese, similar to ricotta)
  • 1 handful dill
  • 1 egg yolk

How to Make Dill and Lor Cheese Poğaça (Turkish Savory Pastry Rolls)

Combine 1 water glass of yogurt, 1 egg, 1 egg white, 1 tea glass of vegetable oil, 1 dessert spoon of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of vegetable margarine, 1 dessert spoon of salt, flour as needed, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder in a bowl and knead until the dough no longer sticks to your hands. Roll the dough into small balls, flatten them in your palm, place a spoonful of the lor cheese and dill mixture (prepared separately) in the center, and seal the edges by pressing them together with your fingers. Brush the tops with 1 egg yolk and bake at 200°C (390°F).

Cooking Tip

You can also sprinkle nigella seeds on top if you like.

In terms of indigestion, dill is very beneficial due to its excellent digestive properties. Secondly, the antiseptic oils in dill fight germs in the body, helping to treat diarrhea by eliminating infections. Dill also helps control bad breath. Gastroesophageal reflux disease is one of the causes of bad breath, and this condition can also cause a burning sensation in the throat due to acid.
