Ingredients for Pide Pizza (Turkish Flatbread Pizza)

  • 1 Ramadan pide (Turkish flatbread)
  • 2 tablespoons salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste)
  • 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 100 g shredded kaşar cheese (Turkish semi-hard cheese, similar to mild cheddar)
  • 3-4 sausages
  • 10 black olives
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) oregano

How to Make Pide Pizza (Turkish Flatbread Pizza)

For the salça sauce: In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste) with 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) of vegetable oil.

Cut a Ramadan pide (Turkish flatbread) in half lengthwise. Cut each of the two pieces into square shapes. Spread the prepared salça sauce over the cut pide pieces. Distribute 100 g of shredded kaşar cheese over the sauce. (You can add more if needed.) Place the sliced sausages and pitted black olives on top of the cheese. Finally, sprinkle oregano over everything. Arrange the prepared pide pizzas on a baking tray and bake in the oven at 200°C (390°F) until the kaşar cheese melts. Enjoy!
