How to Make Gingerbread Man Cookies (Adam Kurabiye)
In a bowl, beat 2 tablespoons of butter and half a water glass (about 200 ml / ¾ cup + 1 tbsp) of brown sugar together. Add half a water glass of pekmez (Turkish grape molasses), 1 egg, 2.5 water glasses of flour (add more if needed), 1 packet of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then beat again. Place the prepared dough between sheets of parchment paper and roll out to about 1 finger's thickness using a rolling pin over the parchment. Let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour, then cut out shapes using gingerbread man cookie cutters and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) until the tops turn lightly golden. Once the cookies have cooled, use white decorating icing (sugar glaze) to draw eyes and a mouth on each one. Enjoy… <3
