Ingredients for Bulgur Pilaf with Orzo (Arpa Şehriyeli Bulgur Pilavı)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil
- Half a water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) orzo (şehriye)
- 3 long green peppers (sivri biber)
- 2 tomatoes
- 1.5 glasses bulgur (cracked wheat), picked over and rinsed
- 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) salt
- 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper flakes
How to Make Bulgur Pilaf with Orzo (Arpa Şehriyeli Bulgur Pilavı)
In a medium saucepan, sauté half a water glass of orzo in 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tea glass of vegetable oil until golden. Add 3 diced long green peppers and sauté for a little longer. Add 2 diced tomatoes and sauté again. Add 1.5 glasses of picked-over and rinsed bulgur (cracked wheat), stir briefly, then add water just until it covers the surface. Stir in 1 dessert spoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of Aleppo pepper flakes, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook until done. Enjoy your meal…
