Ingredients for Lamb and Spinach Stew (Kuzu Ispanak Yemeği)

  • 1 kg (about 2 lbs) spinach
  • 1 medium dry onion
  • 2 long green peppers (sivri biber)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (domates salçası)
  • 1 handful rice
  • Half a tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp) water
  • Garlic yogurt, for serving

How to Make Lamb and Spinach Stew (Kuzu Ispanak Yemeği)

After cleaning 1 kg (about 2 lbs) of spinach, rinse and drain it. Once drained, chop it into pieces that are not too small and set aside. In a pot, sauté 1 medium dry onion and 2 long green peppers, both roughly chopped, in vegetable oil. Once the onions turn pink, add 1 heaping tablespoon of tomato paste (domates salçası) and stir for a moment. Add the prepared spinach on top and stir it as well. Add 1 handful of cleaned and rinsed rice. After mixing all the ingredients well together, add half a tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp) of water and leave to cook.
