Anesthesiology and Algology Specialist Dr. Erhan Özer, who emphasizes that emotional conflicts and fears play a primary role in the development of chronic conditions, also underlines that unhealthy nutrition plays the second most important role. Özer states that among the leading factors that disrupt the body's systemic balance are acidification and metabolic waste resulting from consuming dead foods, warning that otherwise we become triggers for chronic pain and especially cancer, adding: "If you have a chronic condition, stay away from dead foods!"

Dr. Erhan Özer points out that treating chronic diseases is not possible through changes in diet and habits alone, noting that alongside the physical satisfaction the body gains from being nourished with living foods, spiritual and mental fulfillment is also important in the treatment of chronic diseases. Dr. Özer states that under the new era's concept of "Holistic Informatic Medicine," the sources of pain and illness must be evaluated within the unity of body, mind, and spirit, explaining that treatments can thus be applied in a format that eliminates the disinformation (reverse frequencies) causing illness.

Foods to avoid for chronic conditions
To that end, dead foods must first be avoided. The foods Dr. Özer refers to as dead foods are packaged foods sold in supermarkets that have no nutritional value and merely fill the stomach. Conversely, foods that have been touched by sunlight, obtained directly from nature, and rich in nutritional value are called living foods. We must increase our consumption of living foods and make this way of eating our lifestyle.

Watch out for these!...

Dr. Erhan Özer notes that foods with a high glycemic index and high saturated fat content, refined sugar, alcohol, and tobacco must definitely be avoided, and says that foods identified through food intolerance testing (especially lactose and gluten) should be avoided for 2–4 months. He also points out the need to avoid fructose-containing foods with corn syrup, refined salt, artificial chemical sweeteners, colorings, and additives that extend shelf life.

Spiritual and physical nourishment for chronic health
Spiritual nourishment matters too!

Dr. Özer notes that healthy nutrition will be achieved through the understanding of cleansing the physical body of acids and waste, and underlines that we must pay great attention to the flora of our intestines — our "second brain" that governs our soul, emotions, and thoughts. He further states that in order to stop the chronification process and initiate the healing period (self-regulation), the disinformation originating from the subconscious that negatively affects the intestines must also be neutralized. To do this, just as we protect our physical body from acidification through an alkaline diet, we must also nourish our soul and mind with alkalizing emotions and activities — such as love, joy, laughter, sports, meditation, and hobbies we enjoy.

Start your day with fat…

Dr. Erhan Özer emphasizes the importance of the first food the body receives in the morning; his recommendation is to start the day upon waking with 2 water glasses (about 400 ml / 1½ cups) of warm water, plus an additional glass of freshly squeezed juice from 1 lemon in water. After that, avoid eating or drinking anything for 30 minutes. During this time, taking 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil and swishing it around the mouth for 10 minutes before spitting it out helps cleanse the mucus-like secretion caused by acidification that negatively affects intestinal absorption. We should also make an effort to switch our primary fuel source, opting to use ketones derived from fats rather than carbohydrates (especially bread).

We must make sure to consume olive oil (preferably first cold stone-pressed) above all, as well as coconut oil, avocado oil, black seed (nigella), sesame, St. John's wort, pumpkin seed, and grape seed oil extracts, along with turmeric oil extracts.

Home grain mill for healthy eating
A home grain mill is essential!

Reminding us that the most important foods for our health should have 70% alkaline value, Dr. Erhan Özer says: "It is beneficial to make use of grains especially at breakfast. It is worth sourcing them from mills like the ones our grandmothers used to have at home. Non-GMO natural einkorn or emmer wheat can be freshly milled and used right away. We can use this natural wheat, which will improve intestinal flora and allow us to absorb high levels of vitamins and minerals, in a grain soup format for breakfast.

Here are two example recipes for healthy eating:

Grain Breakfast Recipe: Mill 60 g of organic wheat and pour 100 ml of warm water over it, then let it sit for 15 minutes. Grate a fresh apple on top and add a small amount of walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, or almonds along with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Grain Soup Recipe: Obtain organic wheat or buckwheat. Each morning, mill 100–150 g of wheat and place it in ½ of the water, letting it soak for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, bring the other ½ of the water to a boil in a pot. Once the water is boiling, slowly stir in the soaked wheat. Stir until it comes back to a boil, then leave it to cool. When the temperature drops to approximately 40°C (104°F), add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, Himalayan salt, black pepper, and parsley. This soup can be consumed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until satisfied, for 1–3 days.
