How to Make Baked Cauliflower Fritters (Karnabahar Mücveri)
We boil half a cauliflower and drain it. We transfer it to a large bowl and mash it with a fork. We chop 1 handful of parsley, 1 handful of dill, and 4 finely chopped spring onions over the top. We crack in 3 eggs and crumble in 150 g of white cheese (similar to feta). We add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 4 heaping tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 dessert spoon of salt, and 1 dessert spoon of dried mint, then mix everything together. We pour the mixture into a greased square glass baking dish and smooth the surface with a spatula. We bake in a 200°C (390°F) oven until the top is golden brown. Enjoy!
About This Recipe
Cauliflower is one of the finest members of the cruciferous family and holds a well-deserved place in our rich culinary repertoire. Come October, it takes its spot on the shelves of neighborhood markets and supermarkets alike. We are fortunate that this remarkable vegetable can be grown in three different regions of our country. Thanks to its low calorie content and high fiber compared to many other vegetables, it is a staple in diet programs. It provides a feeling of fullness quickly.
Its high sulfur content makes it liver-friendly. Cauliflower is both fibrous and nutrient-dense, and thanks to its antioxidant properties, it supports our body in the treatment of conditions such as ulcers, gastritis, and urinary tract issues. For these and similar reasons, consuming cauliflower in season provides antioxidants and plant-based nutrition that help protect against many diseases. This vegetable contains vitamin C, beta-carotene, kaempferol, quercetin, rutin, and cinnamic acid. All of these protect the body against free radicals, slow down the aging process, and prevent damage to tissues and organs.
