How to Make Baked Chicken with Potatoes

Remove the skin from 5 chicken chops, wash them, and let them drain in a colander.

For the sauce: In a deep bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1/2 tablespoon of salça, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Add the chicken pieces into the sauce. Peel 3 small fresh potatoes and add them to the sauce as well. Sprinkle in 1/2 dessert spoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, then toss everything together to coat. Arrange them in order on a baking tray. Wrap the chicken legs with foil. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the top. Cover with parchment paper. Bake in a 200°C (390°F) oven for half an hour covered, then remove the parchment paper and continue baking uncovered until golden brown.

About This Recipe

With an 8,000-year history, the potato is one of the most important gifts to humanity. Today, contemporary botanists agree that its homeland is South America. The potato grew as a wild species in the Andes mountains, spreading from there to Colombia and Venezuela, and then on to Chile and northern Argentina. Eventually, all its varieties began to be cultivated and produced in Peru.

It is also known to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women, and to cleanse the blood of toxins from chemical pollutants such as air pollution and radiation, thereby supporting cell renewal. It also strengthens the immune system and alkalizes the blood. Because it contains phosphorus, potato is said to boost male vitality. The manganese found in potatoes is a friend to women's skin. This valuable vegetable not only beautifies a woman's complexion when eaten, but also through creams and masks — firming the skin. Potatoes are 75% water, and their richness in potassium combined with low sodium content is known to be beneficial for high blood pressure and heart conditions. They are also a wonderful antioxidant.
