Ingredients for Braised Cabbage with Beef (Etli Kapuska)
- 1 small head of cabbage
- 200 g (about 7 oz) beef
- 1/2 tea glass of vegetable oil (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp)
- 2 long green peppers (sivri biber)
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste)
- 1 dessert spoon salt (about 2 tsp)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper flakes
How to Make Braised Cabbage with Beef (Etli Kapuska)
In a pot, cook the cube-cut and washed beef in its own juices. Add half a tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp) of vegetable oil, 2 long green peppers cut into bite-sized pieces, and 1 dry onion, then sauté everything together. Add 1 tablespoon of salça (Turkish tomato/pepper paste) and stir to combine. Add a small head of cabbage that has been washed and chopped. Sprinkle with 1 dessert spoon of salt, half a teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of Aleppo pepper flakes. Add enough water to just cover. Once it comes to a boil, cook on low heat.
