The coronavirus (Covid-19) disease, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), poses a significant threat in our country as it does across the world. As the danger of the novel coronavirus is observed to grow day by day, experts emphasize the importance of not only taking protective measures against the disease but also strengthening the immune system. Dietitian M. Berrin Ak from Nişantaşı Hospital shared immune-boosting nutritional recommendations against coronavirus along with an immunological resin recipe.
As the coronavirus outbreak continues to grow its impact around the world, misinformation about the disease spreads just as rapidly as the disease itself. Dietitian M. Berrin Ak, noting that there is no single food that can cure coronavirus or prevent its transmission on its own, drew attention to the importance of keeping the immune system strong during this period, as the severity of illness and risk of death are associated with immune system weakness. Ak stated that a diet enriched with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants reduces the risk of contracting infectious diseases.
