Sample Menu for New Year's Eve
On New Year's Eve, we need to watch our figure without going overboard on delicious food. But how do we manage that? Here is a sample New Year's Eve menu from Dietitian Merve Tığlı!


Morning
500 ml water (1/2 lemon + 3–4 slices of cucumber + 2–3 fresh mint leaves)
Breakfast
1 cup probiotic yogurt
3 tablespoons oats
1 slice fresh pineapple
1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) flaxseed

Mid-Morning Snack
500 ml water
1 cup green tea + fennel tea (steep together in the same cup for 5–10 minutes)
1 slice fresh pineapple
Lunch
500 ml water
5–6 tablespoons olive oil-braised vegetable dish
1 bowl light yogurt
Large salad (no dressing)

Afternoon Snack
500 ml water
1 cup green tea + fennel tea
3–4 dried apricots or 1 dried fig
10 raw hazelnuts or almonds
Dinner
500 ml water
2–3 tablespoons low-fat meze (small appetizer dish) or olive oil-based dish
1 slice börek (savory layered pastry) or 3–4 tablespoons pilaf
A palm-sized portion of turkey (skinless)

Late Night
500 ml water
2 glasses of wine or champagne, OR 1 thin slice of cake (no cream), OR 1 bowl of milk-based dessert, OR 2 fruits + 10 hazelnuts or almonds
