Ingredients for Stuffed Grape Leaves with Meat (Etli Yaprak Dolması)

  • 300 g (about 10.5 oz) ground beef
  • 250 g (about 9 oz) grape leaves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (domates salçası)
  • Half a bunch of parsley
  • Half a water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) of rice
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) dried mint
  • 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Half a tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) of water

How to Make Stuffed Grape Leaves with Meat (Etli Yaprak Dolması)

In a bowl, knead together 300 g ground beef, 1 finely chopped onion, half a bunch of chopped parsley, half a water glass of picked and rinsed rice, 1 dessert spoon dried mint, 1 dessert spoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon tomato paste (domates salçası), and half a tea glass of water. Roll the prepared filling into 250 g of boiled grape leaves, wrapping them tightly like a cigar. Spread 1 tablespoon of tomato paste over the bottom of the pot you will be cooking in, then arrange the dolma inside. Add 2 tablespoons of margarine, pour in enough water to just cover, and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and cook until done. Enjoy your meal…
