Ingredients for Urfa Kebab (Urfa Kebap)
- 500 g (about 1 lb) ground beef
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ dessert spoon (about 1 tsp) salt
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- Cherry tomatoes
- Long green peppers (sivri biber)
- Tırnak pide (Turkish finger flatbread)
How to Make Urfa Kebab (Urfa Kebap)
In a bowl, combine 500 g (about 1 lb) of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of black pepper, ½ dessert spoon (about 1 tsp) of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika, and knead everything together. After oiling your hands, take a portion of the prepared mixture roughly the size of an orange and press it onto a wooden skewer, shaping it into a long form. Repeat this with the remaining mixture on several skewers. Oil your hands again and thread cherry tomatoes onto the remaining skewers, three at a time. Arrange all the skewers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Wash 4 long green peppers, lightly coat them with oil, and place them on the parchment paper as well. (You can use as many peppers and tomatoes as you like.) Bake in the oven at 200°C (390°F) until the kebabs are browned and cooked through. To serve, place warmed tırnak pide cut into long strips on the bottom of the plate, then arrange the kebabs, peppers, and tomatoes on top. Enjoy!
