Ingredients for Ground Meat Tarhana Soup (Kıymalı Tarhana)
- 5 tablespoons tarhana (fermented grain-yogurt soup base)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 50 g ground meat
- ½ tablespoon tomato paste (domates salçası)
- 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) salt
- 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) Aleppo pepper flakes
How to Make Ground Meat Tarhana Soup (Kıymalı Tarhana)
In a soup pot, sauté 50 g of ground meat in 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add half a tablespoon of tomato paste and stir to combine. Pour in more than half a pot of water. Add 5 tablespoons of tarhana (fermented grain-yogurt soup base), 1 dessert spoon of salt, and 1 dessert spoon of Aleppo pepper flakes, stirring as you cook.
