About This Recipe
Our country is quite rich in terms of mushroom biodiversity and ranks among the top 20 mushroom-producing countries in the world. The leading nations globally are the Netherlands, France, and the USA. Turkey is gradually increasing its mushroom export volume. A considerable amount of mushroom exports are made from our free trade zones, particularly in Mersin and Kocaeli. Mushrooms grown naturally in Turkey are exported to Europe, the Far East, and Arab countries. Compared to other countries, we have a greater variety of wild mushrooms.
Mushrooms are also quite rich in protein. Research has shown that they are healthier than animal protein. Mushrooms contain as much protein as milk, with plenty of vitamins and minerals on top of that. Since they contain negligible amounts of sugar and fat, they are widely consumed by those aiming for a healthy diet. In fact, some mushroom varieties are even used in the treatment of anemia.
