How to Make Kaşar Cheese Puff Pastry Cups
Place 10 sheets of puff pastry dough that have been left out at room temperature into muffin tins. Distribute 150 g of grated kaşar cheese evenly among the pastry cups. Gently press down the centers of each cup, then fold the outer edges of the pastry up and over to seal them closed. Using a pastry brush, brush 1 egg yolk over the tops of the sealed pastry cups, then bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) until golden brown.

About This Recipe
Puff pastry is a thousand-layered delight. Made from alternating layers of dough and butter, puff pastry requires a special folding technique. It has long been the source of incredibly flavorful böreks (savory layered pastries) and extraordinary desserts. Its name comes from the French term "mille feuille," meaning "a thousand leaves."
Also known as feuilletée, puff pastry is said to have taken its alternative name in the 17th century from Fouet, the head chef of the Condé pastry shop in Paris. Whether you call it puff pastry or feuilletée, this special dough lends its name to many of the sweets made with it.
Today we've prepared a very practical and delicious snack using this special dough. Our kaşar cheese puff pastry recipe is written with ease in mind. If you'd like, you can also take a look at our other puff pastry recipe, Two-Cheese Puff Pastry Börek...
