Ingredients for Flour Halva (Un Helvası)

  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 water glasses (about 600 ml / 2 1/2 cups) flour
  • 2 water glasses (about 400 ml / 1 3/4 cups) granulated sugar
  • 3 water glasses (about 600 ml / 2 1/2 cups) water
  • A few drops of lemon juice

How to Make Flour Halva (Un Helvası)

  1. In a pot, sauté 1 water glass of vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons of butter, and 3 water glasses of flour together until browned.
  2. In a separate pot, bring 2 water glasses of granulated sugar, 3 water glasses of water, and a few drops of lemon juice to a boil to make a sugar syrup. Slowly add the boiling syrup to the sautéed flour, stirring and cooking until all the liquid is absorbed.
