Ingredients for Creamy Orange Muffins

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 water glass milk
  • 1/2 water glass freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 water glass vegetable oil
  • 2 water glasses flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 50 g butter
  • 300 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g labneh cheese
  • Ready-made heart-shaped chocolates

How to Make Creamy Orange Muffins

Beat 2 eggs with 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) of granulated sugar. Add 1/2 water glass of milk, 1/2 water glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, 1/2 water glass of vegetable oil, 2 water glasses of flour, 1 packet of baking powder, and 1 packet of vanilla, then beat again. Place paper muffin liners into a muffin tray. Pour the prepared batter into the liners, leaving about a finger's width of space at the top. In a separate bowl, beat together 50 g of butter, 300 g of powdered sugar, and 100 g of labneh cheese, then refrigerate for half an hour and transfer to a piping bag. Pipe decoratively onto the baked muffins and serve with heart-shaped chocolates. Enjoy!

About This Recipe

The orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the most developed members of the citrus family; its trees can grow up to 12 meters tall and have a grayish bark. Orange trees have dense foliage and can produce a large number of oranges at once. Left to its own devices, an orange tree can live for approximately 100 years. However, today trees that reach 30–40 years of age are often removed and replaced with new saplings because their yield declines. Orange trees reach their peak productivity 10–15 years after planting and can produce approximately 650 to 700 oranges per year. At least 5 years must pass before an orange tree can bear fruit in these quantities. Climate conditions are also extremely important for orange trees. They cannot grow in cold climates. They do not thrive in regions where temperatures drop below -3°C (27°F), and they will freeze at temperatures below that. Extreme heat is also detrimental to orange trees; temperatures above 30°C (86°F) can damage the trees. Temperate climates are ideal. Orange tree saplings should be planted in September and October. There are no particular soil type requirements — any soil type can be used. However, care should be taken to ensure that the planting hole is wide enough. The orange is a tree that requires a lot of water, but irrigation must be done using a drip system. Because this method of watering is slow and continuous, the soil's absorption capacity improves. Annual pruning is also of vital importance for the tree.
