  • 3 dessert spoons (about 2 tsp each) dry yeast
  • 2 water glasses (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp each) flour
  • 3 water glasses (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp each) whole wheat flour
  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) crushed hazelnuts
  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 water glass (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) lukewarm water

How to Make Hazelnut Bread (Fındıklı Ekmek)

  1. In a bowl, combine 3 dessert spoons of dry yeast, 2 water glasses of flour, and 3 water glasses of whole wheat flour and mix together. Add 1 water glass of lukewarm water, 2 teaspoons of salt, 3 tablespoons of yogurt, and 1 tea glass of olive oil, then knead until the dough is soft. Add 1 water glass of crushed hazelnuts and half a water glass of walnuts to the dough and continue kneading. Cover the glass bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 30 minutes to rise.
  2. Grease 2 long loaf pans, divide the dough between them, and make deep cuts along the tops of the loaves. Place the remaining walnuts into the cut sections and brush the tops of the loaves with oil. Let them rest in the pans for another 20 minutes.
  3. Bake the prepared dough in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes. Enjoy your meal...
