- 1 onion
- 3 long green peppers (sivri biber)
- 2 small carrots
- Half a tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp) vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Half a dessert spoon (about 1 tsp) salt
- 1 sugar cube
- 1 handful dill
How to Make Olive Oil Braised Peas (Zeytinyağlı Bezelye)
We shell and rinse 500 g (about 1 lb) of peas. In a pot, we sauté 1 finely chopped onion, 3 finely chopped long green peppers, and 2 finely chopped small carrots in half a tea glass (about 50 ml / 3 tbsp + 1 tsp) of vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. We add the peas, stir briefly, then add just enough hot water to barely cover them, along with half a dessert spoon (about 1 tsp) of salt and 1 sugar cube, and let everything cook through.
