Ingredients for Pomegranate Jam (Nar Reçeli)

  • 4 pomegranates
  • 3 water glasses (about 200 ml / 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp each) granulated sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

How to Make Pomegranate Jam (Nar Reçeli)

We seed 2 of the pomegranates and boil them in a pot with their own juice (if there isn't enough juice, add half a tea glass (about 100 ml / 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp) of water). Once boiled, we seed the remaining 2 pomegranates and add them to the pot as well. We add 3 water glasses of granulated sugar on top. We squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the pomegranates and cook until the jam reaches the desired consistency. Once the jam is cooked, we transfer it to a jar while still hot but do not close the lid. We leave it to cool this way. Once the jam has cooled, we close the lid of the jar and place it in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

  • Squeeze the lemon in toward the end of cooking.
  • When stored this way, the jam can be kept in the refrigerator for at least 1 year.
