- 5 large peaches
- 1 kg (about 2.2 lb) granulated sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
How to Make Peach Jam (Şeftali Reçeli)
Wash 5 large peaches, peel them, cut them in half, and remove the pits. Slice them into long strips and place them in a pot. Add 1 kg (about 2.2 lb) of granulated sugar, close the lid, and let them sit overnight at room temperature. The next day, place the pot on the stove, stir occasionally, and once the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat. If any foam forms, skim it off the surface. Once the liquid begins to thicken, squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon, boil for 5 more minutes, then remove from heat.
