- 1 kg (about 2 lb) tangerines
- 1 kg (about 2 lb) granulated sugar
- 1 lemon
How to Make Tangerine Jam
Wash 1 kg (about 2 lb) of tangerines and place them whole into a pot. Add water up to halfway — just enough to cover the tangerines — and bring to a boil whole. Once boiling, discard the water, add fresh water, and boil again. Once boiling, discard the water again and add fresh water. Repeat this process 2 times. (This is done to remove the bitterness from the tangerines.) Finally, for the 3rd time, add water up to halfway and boil — but this time do not discard the water. Once the tangerines have cooled in the pot, cut them in the same water. (You can halve smaller ones or quarter larger ones.)
