On Day 21 we leave the 3rd week of Ramadan behind. We've built a hearty and impressive iftar menu worthy of the last day of the week, centered around Köfteli Patlıcan Kebabı (Eggplant Kebab with Köfte). We open our iftar with our most iconic and beloved soup — Lentil Soup (Mercimek Çorbası) — a perfect pairing with kebab. We rounded out the whole week with pilaf and salad. So of course, on Day 21 of Ramadan, we simply had to make a gratin! After filling up with a wonderfully delicious Potato Gratin topped with melted kaşar cheese (Turkish semi-hard cheese, similar to mild cheddar), we close our iftar and our third week with a light and gorgeous two-tone muhallebi (Turkish milk pudding) — one layer chocolate, one plain.
