Ingredients for Piyaz (Turkish White Bean Salad)
- 300 g (about 10.5 oz) dried white beans
- 1 onion
- 2 dessert spoons (about 2 tsp each) salt
- 1 handful parsley
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) Aleppo pepper flakes
- Olive oil
How to Make Piyaz (Turkish White Bean Salad)
Soak 300 g (about 10.5 oz) of dried white beans overnight, then boil and drain them in the morning. Slice 1 onion into julienne strips, rub with 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) of salt, and rinse. Place the beans in a salad bowl. Add the onions, then roughly chop 1 handful of parsley and dice 2 tomatoes and add them on top. Sprinkle with 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) of salt and 1 dessert spoon (about 2 tsp) of Aleppo pepper flakes, then squeeze half a lemon over everything. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to combine.
