About This Recipe
The bean is a climbing plant of the legume family. Its main varieties are "Ayşekadın" and "çalı fasulyesi" (bush bean). These are consumed fresh. Beans grow in almost every part of our country, but prefer clay, sandy, and moist soils. Beans grow well in warm areas; in places where winter temperatures don't drop below 3–4°C (37–39°F), they are sown in autumn and harvested in spring. In colder regions, they are planted in February and harvested in June.
